Hi group.

On my windows 98se. system that I reinstalled lately, I'm now getting a
"User name" and "Password" request, every time I start up the PC. How
can I eliminate this from showing up?
Any help will be appreciated.
Thanks
BN

Can you not just go to Control Panel--->Users and delete the user
entries there?

How to AutoLogon Win98 in none-network or no password needed environment

To get rid of the windows login dialog box when 98 boots, go to
Start>Settings>Control Panel>Passwords, enter your current password in the
box Current Password and leave blank. in the New Password and the
confirmation box. Then go to the Properties of Network> PRIMARY NETWORK
LOGON, select Windows Logon from the list. Note: if the win98 is in a
network, it may not be able to access the network because it is using blank
password.

Tweak UI can do that for you:

Tweak UI - Logon - tick 'Log on automatically at startup',
fill in User name and Password fields.

The password will be stored unencryped in the registry,
so anyone with access to the computer will be able to
view and change it.

addition:
I just saw in some version(s) of Tweak UI it's under the
'Network' tab.
