Hello all.
I have recently been given a Toshiba Satellite Pro 460CDT notebook.
It came with Windows 95 installed which didn't support USB.
I thought it would be handy to be able to do some work away from my PC, and
be able to transfer files from the notebook, onto my PC using a USB memory
stick.
I installed Windows 98 and so far I have been unable to find a driver that
lets me use the USB function.
I have tried two memory sticks, both different types, and when I plug the
stick in it goes through the hardware installation wizard, but the drivers I
have managed to find still don't work.
I have also not been able to get into the bios of this machine and would
like to if possible.
I would be very grateful if anyone could help.
Thank you very much.

This sounds like USB could be disabled in BIOS,
or that you haven`t yet installed the laptops`
motherboard drivers, which may not be available
in win98.
Here`s the laptops` manual:

And assorted drivers/utilities.

Hello user.
Thank you very much for your reply.
I have tried quite a few of these files, but still can't get the thing to
work.
I have been unable to get into the bios, but I think that the USB port is
enabled, as the add new hardware wizard comes on, when I insert one of the
flash cards.
I have just bought a db9/db9 null modem cable, to see if I can use the
parallel port to transfer my files.
thank you again.
