Hello and welcome to all the refugees from the win-98 forums on MSFN.

Here on usenet, we're always open - 24/7/365.

No moderators, no censorship - no kidding!

but, hang on, not wanting to moderate or anything (as we don't have that
here!!) shouldn't that be 24/7/52 as in hours/days/weeks (rather than
your hours/days/days)??

Ok -

Here on usenet, we're always open - 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.

Unlike MSFN.org, which is still down.

If you want to know what MSFN is really for, just look at how they use
twitter. Or rather, how they don't use it.

They don't use twitter to tell people what's going on with their
website.

Instead, they use their tweets to shill Windoze 8 for Macro$haft. Just
have a look here:

You mean to tell me that MSFN has sold out? And all those old Win95/98
articles and patches are now gone?

When you look at how MSFN uses twitter, it's mainly to communicate new
things about Windoze 8. It's never been used to communicate something
more practical and seemingly more important to the entire MSFN user-base
- which is the status of their website.

MSFN really never acted as a server for files - that's mainly done at
mdgx.com.

All their forum posts are (presumably) still there, except that the last
time MSFN went down (about 3 weeks ago) they lost the most recent 3 or 4
days worth of postings (to all forums).

Except for leap years, then we're open 366 days a year! ;)
