Is there a way to read or convert docx on a Win98SE machine? It's a real
bore to have to boot up the eXPerimental setup every time.

Caveat: I'm not sure if these will work under 9x; I haven't tried. Maybe
they'll need KernelEx to work; maybe they just won't work at all. YMMV.

Microsoft's Word Viewer:

DocX Viewer:

To *edit* a .docx in 9x... can't help ya there, sorry. (You *could* extract
the contents and edit the source files... but that's a PITA, and I would only
resort to that under extreme circumstances.)

Just like those I've already got they won't, it seems.

OO3 can't do it on its own, but you're right. I really ought to install
KernelEx some time and perhaps the Microsoft converter that plugs into
MS-Office 2003 and OO3 will work on this machine too.
