ECP Printer Port Conflict

Hi;
I hope someone can help me with this problem.

In device manager I have a yellow exclamation mark beside the ECP
Printer port.

When I check its properties it has a conflict with:

Interrupt Request 07 used by:
ACPI IRQ Holder for PCI IRQ Steering
Interrupt Request 07 used by:
Standard Universal PCI to USB Host Controller

It uses IRQ 07 (Which has a red circle with a slash through it)

But if I try to change the IRQ manually -the only other option it
gives is IRQ 05 (Which has the same conflicts).
And when I view the device manager system resources IRQs, they are all
used. Can I share one OR?

I use a Pent4 running win98.

Thanks,
Lynny

you might be able to sort things out by putting cards into differnt pci
slots

If a port is shared, doesn't there have to be some method
(prog or file) telling the computer this is the situation?
Perhaps a share exe file?
Just a thought.

No. Some items can be shared with no problems, others will object to
shared resources but can often be altered manually.

The answer in this case may be to remove all of the offending items
from within the Device manager (using Safe mode), check in the device
manager for any duplicated items (except IRQ steering) and remove
these also. Remove the items which are using IRQ's 5,7,11 If these are
physical cards remove these after shutting down.
Re-boot with any cards removed left out. The computer will reload some
devices and drivers. Shut down replace the cards and then re-boot
again. Hopefully Windows will re-organise the IRQ's to a satisfactory
set-up. It may be that you may have to adjust one or more items
manually, but hopefully it may now be possible with a revised order.

Hopefully the
