I want to install Win-ME on a blank HDD

I'm trying to figure out the best way to install Win-ME. I got a .ISO
file of it, but I used Winimage run under Win98 and extracted it. I dont
burn CDs and dont even want to try.

The computer I want to install W-ME to is older. It has USB 1 ports, but
dont have the settings to boot from USB. It does have a floppy drive.
The plan is to boot the computer from a Dos floppy, then install DOS to
the HDD from the Dos floppy.

Then comes the task to copy the Win-ME installer files to that HDD. I
think I can do that by using a cable from the HDD to the USB port on my
XP machine. -OR- I can just plug in a second HDD with these install
files already on it.

Then all I need to do is run the W-ME installer.

Is this correct?
Is there an easier way?

Dont waste your time telling me to burn a CD. I DO NOT burn CDs or DVDs,
Period!

I presently run Win98SE nearly all the time. I only have XP on my
laptop, but rarely use it. I've always wanted to try Win-ME, and since I
got this spare computer, thats what I want to do. Win98 has always been
the best OS ever made. I have always heard bad things about Win-ME, but
few people have ever proven it. I bet I can make it work just fine, the
same way I have made Win98 the most stable OS ever developed. I can
watch XP crash fairly often, but W98 just keeps running......
I dont run Vista, Win7, Win8, or Win10, or any form of Linux. Its all
rubbish...

Why? Do you just not have the burning software, or are you afraid?

Ive probably burnt around 50 of them using differnt software and
machines, over the years. Not one of them ever worked. I'd carefully
burn them, waste an hour or more doing it. Find it was no good and toss
it in the trash. I became so angry I smashed every last blank, then I
removed the burner and used a hammer on it. Then I tossed all of it the
trash. I dont wish to discuss this any further, you will NOT change my
mind. I DO NOT BURN CDs or DVDs, PERIOD! They are a lousy storage media
anyhow. Far too fragile and easy to ruin. Commercial CDs are very
different and are fairly durable. But the home burnt ones were garbage
from the day they were first introduced. Digital storage like Flash
drives is the way to go, or else hard drives. I dont even have a CD
player in my computer anymore, and have not had one for probably 10
years.

You mentioned USB. If you could boot from the port would that
do it for you?

You might take a look at PLOP. I use it to boot from USB (or
CD) where that capability doesn't exist and it should be
floppy-installable.
